Welcome to PayID! These Terms of Service ("Terms") gove your access to and use of the PayID platform, including our website, APIs, and identity verification services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

1. Description of Service

PayID is an identity verification and authentication platform that allows users to verify their identity and securely share that verified identity with third-party applications ("Clients") via OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect protocols. We partner with trusted Know Your Customer (KYC) providers (such as QoreID and Plaid) to validate your identity documents.

2. User Accounts & Responsibilities

To use PayID, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide Encouraging Information: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration and verification process.
• Maintain Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (password, OTPs, etc.) and for all activities that occur under your account.
• Promptly Update: You agree to keep your information up-to-date.

3. Identity Verification (KYC)

By using our identity verification services, you authorize PayID and its third-party providers to:

• Collect and process your personal information and identity documents (e.g., Passport, Driver's License, NIN, BVN).
• Verify this information against government and third-party databases.
• Store a record of your verification status and, where applicable, encrypted copies of your documents.

You acknowledge that the verification results are based on the data available to our providers and may not be error-free.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Services for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state your affiliation with a person or entity.
• Submit fake, forged, or stolen identity documents.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or related systems.

5. Third-Party Services

PayID allows you to use your account to sign in to third-party applications. When you do so, you authorize us to share specific information (as consented by you) with those applications. We are not responsible for the practices or content of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their terms and privacy policies.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and share your information.

7. Intellectual Property

The PayID platform, including its software, design, and content, is owned by PayID and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAYID SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
